The Pelvis in detail

Sacrum

Gently and slightly rises in labour, this is easier if there is no pressure on the bones.

Hip Bone

The Hormone Relaxin is released to help relax the ligaments of the pelvis so the larger bones can move to allow baby room to grow.

Coccyx

moves and flattens out to help baby move through the pelvis.

Symphysis Pubic

Ligaments relax here to allow for growth of baby.
