Muscles of the uterus

Here you can see the two muscle layers that make up your uterus.

On the left is the outer layer, the layer closest to your skin, these muscles are made from long muscle fibres – we will call them the long muscles of the uterus as shown.

The next layer is our blood supply. This network of veins and artery’s need to work with each other, to provide and promote an adequate blood circulation, to help support the uterus as it grows and provide nourishment too for your baby.

On the right side, is a diagram of the inner layers of muscles, these are closest to your baby. Your placenta is closest to this layer too. These layers, as shown are circular layers.
